Job Description:
Relic Entertainment, the award-winning developer of Homeworld, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes, is looking for an experienced and motivated LEAD PROGRAMMER to contribute to an exciting new action/adventure game for X360, PS3, and PC.

Responsibilities

Work with Producer and other Leads to drive the implementation of the project’s technical vision via the programming team

Constantly assess the technical and schedule feasibility of the project’s design

Risk manage the project, and set quality levels for the project

Ensure code team deliverables are set and completed within time and quality expectations while adhering to and advancing internal standards

Work with me (Recruiter) to build the team as necessary

Be an “expert” resource for the project, and the studio

Develop and maintain each programming decision to ensure they accurately reflect the project’s vision and expectation of FUN

With the Producer and other Leads, develop programming prototype, pre-production and production plans

In conjunction with the Producer and Associate Producer, develop programming schedules to meet the demands of milestone expectations and budget restrictions

Manage tuning process to incorporate feedback from various sources (Dev Test, QA, Game Balance, Exec team)

Oversee, mentor and manage project’s Programming Team (including performance reviews)

Assign and monitor team members’ tasks, and identify and resolve issues

Stay in tune with emerging programming trends and products, know what is happening in the gaming marketplace
Requirements
-
Experience as a Lead Programmer on a video game project
-
Experience as a senior level Programmer on at least one shipped console or PC title
-
Thorough understanding of various programming languages (not limited to C++, Visual Basic)

Proven leadership and mentorship abilities

Proven ability to provide programming content

Successful multitasking skills, while not cracking under considerable pressure

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Must be an avid game player, with a strong desire to push the envelope in industry technology
