Relic Entertainment, award winning developer of Homeworld, Dawn of War and the highest rated RTS of all time, Company of Heroes is looking for an experienced and motivated database developer to contribute to an exciting new online game.

Responsibilities:
- Work with Producer and other Leads to drive the implementation of the project’s technical vision via the programming team
- Constantly assess the technical and schedule feasibility of the project’s design
- Design a database to work in a 24/7 production environment to support an online only RTS
- Work closely with lead programmer to ensure system is built for scalability and reliability
- Mentor other Programmers technically and career wise
- Actively participate in the team by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity
- Elicit input from junior staff and incorporate their thinking when formulating solutions to problems at hand.
- Ensure code team deliverables are set and completed within time and quality expectations while adhering to and advancing internal standards
- Be an “expert” resource for the project, and the studio
- In conjunction with the Lead Engineer, develop programming schedules to meet the demands of milestone expectations and budget restrictions
- Manage tuning process to incorporate feedback from various sources (Dev Test, QA primarily)
- Stay in tune with emerging programming trends and products, know what is happening in the gaming marketplace
Requirements:
- 5 years in professional SQL development, including design, complex store procedures, and performance tuning.
- 2 years Java or C# experience
- 2 years C++ experience
- Very high level of personal programming achievement
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
- Experience as a Lead Programmer on a video game project
- Successful multitasking skills, while not cracking under considerable pressure
Assets:
- Formal Engineering degree, Computer Science degree
- LUA, Perl, Python, or other interpreted languages
- Bilingual in Korean or Mandarin an asset but, by no means necessary!
- A love for games!
